Motown comes to Virginia, educated in the Detroit public school system, graduated from Lewis College of Business, attended Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan and American University, Washington, DC.
My early federal career began as a Records Perfectionist at Selfridge Air Force Base, Mt. Clements, Michigan. Shortly after this appointment, by route of Department of Commerce, Washington, DC, Corps of Engineers, New York District and 33 years or so later, retired as the Logistics Officer at the Detroit District Corps of Engineers.
After retirement I embarked upon a career at Wayne State School of Medicine as Student Programs Coordinator. Upon arrival in Virginia Beach, served two years in AmeriCorps*Vista (Volunteers in Service to America). I am currently employed at the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry.
Life member of NARFE and have served in various positions at the Chapter and Federation level in Detroit and Virginia Beach. Married to Donald and we have two sons and three grandchildren.
Area II is composed of five chapters located in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and 80 plus miles across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to the Eastern Shore. The Chapters locations and meeting dates are as indicated below.
The chapters have interesting programs, activities and some chapters have luncheon meetings. I am sure you will be better informed about NARFE by attending the chapter meetings than you were before.
