Chapter meets 3rd Monday each month (except July & August) at the Patterson Avenue Baptist Church, 4301 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, Virginia. Social at 1:00 PM and Meeting at 1:30 PM.
Richmond Chapter 60 was organized under Charter January 14, 1952 with 7 Chapter Members. It is one of the 10 Charter Chapters which organized the 10th State Federation of Chapters in 1955. Two of our chapter members held a position of high standing. They were Guy Yannello who was President of the Virginia Federation of Chapters and also served as President of Chapter 60. The other was James W. Stone who held the position of National Field Vice-President of Region X. Between the years of 1955 and 1966 one may remember all State Conventions were held at the Central Y.M.C.A. in downtown Richmond.
November 1972 marks the year Chapter 60 began its Newsletter and is now mailed monthly to about 435 members.
The Chapter has been actively involved in selling Benson Fruitcakes for years to help defray its operating expenses.
Chapter 60 actively supports Alzheimer's Disease Research. Our contribution to this worthy cause was $206.00 for the year 2006.
The only organization devoted exclusively to protecting our benefits is NARFE. Chapter 60 has worked consistently to protect our COLA's, protect our FEHBP, and protect our Social Security.
