Chapter 2265 Midlothian

The Chapter meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month in the "Meeting Room" of the Brandermill Woods Retirement Community Clubhouse, 14311 Brandermill Woods Trail, Midlothian, VA 23112. Chapter meetings are held from 9:30 AM to Noon. Exceptions are the annual picnic and the Christmas luncheon.

Chapter Activities

Monthly meetings have become a time of socialization, information sharing on national, state and other issues, along with interesting speakers. The chapter is known as "the friendly chapter" with many lasting relationships arising from these meetings. Monthly meetings are advertised in the Richmond Times Dispatch and other local media at least one week prior to the scheduled meeting, listing the time, place, speaker, and a contact person.

The chapter publishes a bi-monthly newsletter, which is sent to all members and prospective members, as well as Congressional and General Assembly members. During the 2000 VFC convention, the chapter's newsletter was judged to be the "best" chapter newsletter in the Commonwealth.

The chapter sponsors approximately seven motor coach tours each year for its members and friends. The profits from these trips enable the chapter to publish and mail the newsletter. The trips have also been an excellent membership tool since many former "national-only" members and prospective members have chosen to join this ever growing and friendly chapter.

In addition to keeping members informed and active in national and state issues affecting federal retirees and other seniors, the chapter actively supports Alzheimer's Research, having contributed in excess of $2,372 in 2008 through drawings, individual contributions, a "foodless dinner, and other fundraisers.
