WORDS FROM CHAPTER 1827 PRESIDENT Ron Butler:

NARFE Seaside Chapter 1827 of Virginia Beach invites all active/ retired Federal employees to visit our chapter meetings any time. As the above directions state we are conveniently located a few blocks from the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. The church social hall provides a comfortable and private atmosphere for our meetings, and for socialization with fellow NARFE members. With the kitchen in the social hall, the coffee pot is always on!

Our meetings, which start promptly at 1:30PM, consist of two parts: a short program , and a business meeting, with adjournment by 3PM. Light refreshments are served after the meeting.

Our programs are varied and of interest to all active/retired Federal employees, both Civil Service (CSRS) and FERS. The programs include: discussions on Long Term Care, Health issues, Changes in Federal Health Care Plans, Taxes, Financial Planning and talks by Local/State/Federal officials.

Our chapter emphasizes the importance of keeping the members advised of national and state legislation that may affect their retirement annuities. A "Hot" line legislative report is provided to the members detailing the current legislative issues, both National and State, at each meeting.
