The Chapter meets the first Friday of each month (except June, July, August, and December) at the Roanoker Restaurant, 2522 Colonial Ave., SW (near Towers Shopping Center) at 12 noon for lunch and then our business session. Reservations are not required.The first Friday of August and December, we meet at the Airport Holiday Inn for our Summer and Christmas Social gathering. Reservations are required for these two meetings.
Our Chapter 111 invites all active and retired employees to attend our meetings at any time. We have our lunch, conduct business, and have a speaker or program at each meeting. We try to have topics that are of interest to Federal Retirees or Seniors in general.
We make an effort to keep our members informed on current State and National legislation. Our meetings offer our members attending an opportunity to enjoy fellowship with each other and talk about old times. The Roanoke Valley Chapter has approximately 500 members. Our attendance is usually 55 or 60 members. We have a newsletter that is published 10 times each year to keep our members informed on NARFE matters. We also have several members on the NARFE NET.
