There are no chapter meetings in June and July. The Board has not yet determined if we will be able to meet in person or if we will continue meeting online using Zoom. A notice will be sent to all members in mid-July with meeting, speaker, and topic information, as well as being posted on this website.

Welcome to the Chapter 111 Roanoke Valley website. Organizationally, our Chapter is a part of the Virginia Federation of NARFE (VFN), specifically Region VII; the VFN is part of the national NARFE Region X. The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the earned pay, retirement and health care benefits of federal employees, retirees, and their survivors. Founded in 1921, NARFE‘s legacy spans 100 years of working tirelessly in support of our members before the Office of Personnel Management, members of Congress, and the White House.

NARFE Mission Statement:
  • To support legislation and regulations beneficial to federal civilian employees and annuitants and potential annuitants under any federal civilian retirement system and to oppose those detrimental to their interests.
  • To promote the general welfare of federal civilian employees and annuitants and potential annuitants, to advise and assist them with respect to their rights under retirement, health and other employee and retiree benefits laws and regulations, and to represent their interests before appropriate authorities.
  • To cooperate with other organizations and associations in furtherance of these general objectives.
NARFE's mission is both critical and timely as Congress and the administration consider legislation that negatively affects federal employment, federal pay, and benefits. Each new member strengthens our message to Congress, fortifies our national outreach, and demonstrates their dedication to maintaining a strong and effective federal workforce.

Chapter 111 keeps our members informed on current national and Commonwealth of Virginia legislation through monthly meetings, a monthly newsletter published ten times a year, and this website. Browse our links to find the latest on proposed legislation and legislative contacts. You‘ll also be able to keep up with Chapter news. Most importantly, we need your participation. Make your voice heard, encourage other federal workers and retirees to join our Chapter, and attend our meetings.
